from a beach at Ft. Pickens by Debbie. Joe once again picked up 30#’s along Hwy 98 in Gulf Breeze. This morning three volunteers gathered 110 lbs along the beached at Naval Live Oaks. Why someone would think dragging a shopping cart thru sand for several hundred yards is easier than just carrying their stuff is beyond me!
Trash was collected from the N & S ends of the Bob Sikes Bridge - 15 volunteers and 89 lbs of garbage.
A single volunteer picked up ~8 lbs of trash along Mobile Hwy near the Equestrian Park (note Whataburger cup)
was collected at Bruce Beach. The “sea” portion by Charlie. No “Whataburger” sponsored debris but plenty of styrofoam cups from Circle K (Polar Pop) and plain from Nick’s in the stormwater draining Corine Jones Park. With Cordova Rotary a further 27 lbs was collected at Palafox Pier. Joe picked up ~15 lbs along Hwy 98.
This brings the month’s total to 953 lbs of trash
individual cleanups totaling 74 lbs of trash . Locations on Scenic Hwy near Bay Bluffs Park by Shelley and Whisper Way Neighborhood Assoc. Also Blase at Stormwater outfall #16 Florida Blanca and Jen/Amanda at Park East.
At the Stormwater outfall near Bartram Park - the 3 most common items were plastic bottle lids, straws and cigarillo plastic butts. Also from the two photos on the gallery, where did all the debris go?

Joe collected 8 lbs along Hwy 98 in NLO.
brought trash back as far as the fence around the park. Too bad there are no garbage cans at the south end of the park. Another 27 lbs was collected by an OceanHourFL volunteer - 22 water bottles
Hobo Beach saw Andy collect 85 lbs of trash
along Scenic Hwy - 22 lbs of trash on this stretch of Scenic Hwy that 36 lbs was collected 14 days earlier. Also 12 water bottles were added to the total on the home page for 2020 collected by myself. On the same day Andy & Tammy collected 23 lbs at Park West and 47 at Bay Bluffs.
Aug 5th two cleanups were reported - Shelley with one garbage bag of mowed trash along Scenic @ Bay Bluffs (8 lbs) and David & Clara @ GINS picked up 16 lbs. When lbs are not reported, I estimate using the average per volunteer per hour of 8 lbs. Another 9 water bottles along Spanish Trail
Total so far this week is 124 lbs
with the number of individual cleanups, will summarize on a weekly basis.
