Sept. 5th The variety of "stuff" collected is amazing -
from a beach at Ft. Pickens by Debbie. Joe once again picked up 30#’s along Hwy 98 in Gulf Breeze. This morning three volunteers gathered 110 lbs along the beached at Naval Live Oaks. Why someone would think dragging a shopping cart thru sand for several hundred yards is easier than just carrying their stuff is beyond me!
Trash was collected from the N & S ends of the Bob Sikes Bridge - 15 volunteers and 89 lbs of garbage.
A single volunteer picked up ~8 lbs of trash along Mobile Hwy near the Equestrian Park (note Whataburger cup)
Aug 29th By land, and by sea, 180 lbs of trash...
was collected at Bruce Beach. The “sea” portion by Charlie. No “Whataburger” sponsored debris but plenty of styrofoam cups from Circle K (Polar Pop) and plain from Nick’s in the stormwater draining Corine Jones Park. With Cordova Rotary a further 27 lbs was collected at Palafox Pier. Joe picked up ~15 lbs along Hwy 98.
This brings the month’s total to 953 lbs of trash
