due to the efforts of 24 volunteers from the US Diplomacy Council. Talks by two environmentalists (Ghana & Costa Rica) were quite informative

GBHS Marine Science, Scouts, the Mowe Family and our regular volunteers picked up a total of 596 lbs.
pick up trash at the Gulf Is. Nat’l Seashore - Ft. Pickens. Sixteen volunteers from the US State Dept.’s “Gulf Coast Citizen Diplomacy Council” and West FL HS Honour Society helped a total of 61 volunenteers pick up 371 lbs of trash.
The first month of 2020 saw 176 volunteers pick up 1752 lbs of trash. The total has to be revised up with 3 individual cleanups bringing the monthly total to 1,930 lbs
picked up 530 lbs of trash at Wayside Park and Graffiti Bridge.
Any ideas on how a Home Depot cart made it all the way to Hobo Beach?
A total of 380 lbs was picked up by 34 volunteers along Scenic Hwy’s two parks - Chimney and Bay Bluffs
to admit defeat and pick up their sign off Hwy 90 going thru Naval Live Oaks.
36 volunteers picked up 301 lbs of trash (not incl. the sign!)
A further 78 lbs was picked up at the south end of Bob Sikes Bridge by 13 volunteers bringing the first Saturday of the New Year to 379 lbs
28 volunteers picked up 1,239 lbs of trash!. This brought the year’s total to 22,437 lbs! ~20% higher than last year
due to continued rain.
All wasn’t lost this week, in cleaning our beaches - 365 lbs of trash was collected by 2 individuals at three different sites. Yearly total to 21,198 lbs.
On Monday Andy picked up 25 lbs at Ft Pickens. Andy and Blase collected 158 lbs at Hobo Beach - took lbs over the 21,000 mark for the year. Andy picked up a further 182 lbs at Bruce Beach
