The rain stopped before 35 volunteers at the two sites picked up 206 lbs. But crickets showed up in numbers!

Mar 29th A very busy Saturday for Ocean Hour volunteers...
staffing booths for the 2nd Annual Pensacola VegFest and 19th Annual SeaGrass Awareness Celebration. Also having two cleanups at Bruce Beach and Payne bridge over Bayou Texar totaling 335 lbs.
So far this year 7,449 lbs of debris have been collected from our beaches!

Mar 7th Progress at Pensacola City Hall...
A new water bottle fill station on the 2nd floor beside the elevators! Soon to be one the 5th floor also. City Hall has stopped the purchase of one use water bottles and styrofoam eating utensils/cups/plates - bring your own! The counter was at 115. Let’s see what it will be at the next Environmental Advisory Board meeting on Apr 4th.

Mar 6th Two cleanups by Andy and Jen's Home School group
Andy picked up 147 lbs of “stuff” at Ft Pickens and 15 students collected 42 lbs at Payne Bridge over Bayou Texar. This brings our yearly total to 6,022 lbs - more than ALL of 2016!
